We’ve listened to your feedback and gone back to the drawing board to build a generative experience that produces more cohesive, less ornate, and remarkably more human prose.

The Problem with AI-Generated Prose

Let's be honest: while impressive, generative AI can sometimes feel like an overeager assistant. As you can see in our new interface, we’ve introduced several fields to give the AI the context it needs:

• Transitions In and Out: By specifying the preceding scene and describing how the current scene should lead to the next, you provide the AI with the narrative glue to create seamless transitions. This ensures a logical flow and helps to build momentum.
• Reference Elements: This is where the magic happens. You can now directly reference your established characters, locations, and world-building elements. The AI will draw upon this specific information, ensuring consistency and enriching the scene with details that are unique to your story.

Less Purple Prose: Clarity Over Clutter

We've fine-tuned our models to favor clear, impactful writing over convoluted descriptions. The goal is to produce prose that serves the story, not the other way around. By providing specific instructions in the Scene Purpose field—such as "Introduce conflict" or "Reveal a secret"—you guide the AI to focus on the narrative function of the scene, resulting in more direct and purposeful writing.

What truly separates human writing from machine-generated text is the ability to convey nuance, subtext, and emotion. Generative AI 2.0 is a significant step in this direction.

• Scene Purpose and Ending Type: These fields allow you to define the emotional and narrative arc of the scene. Whether you want to build suspense, introduce a moment of quiet reflection, or resolve a major conflict, you can now give the AI a clear brief. This results in writing that is more emotionally resonant and aligned with your creative vision.
• A Collaborative Approach: We see AI not as a replacement for the writer, but as a sophisticated tool in their hands. The new interface is designed to be a collaborative space where you provide the high-level direction, and the AI assists with the heavy lifting of drafting. How to Get Started

To start using Generative AI 2.0, simply open a scene in your project and click on the "Generate Prose" button. You'll be greeted with the new, more detailed interface. We encourage you to be specific in your descriptions and to make full use of the "Reference Elements" to ground the AI in your world.
